hanna barbera

Melrose, New Mexico native William Hanna and New York City-born Joseph Barbera first teamed together while working at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio in 1939. Their first directorial project was a cartoon entitled Puss Gets the Boot (1940), which served as the genesis of the popular Tom and Jerry series of cartoon theatricals. Hanna and Barbera served as the directors and story men for the shorts for eighteen years. Seven Tom & Jerry cartoons won the Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) between 1943 and 1953, though the trophies were awarded to their producer Fred Quimby, who was not involved in the creative development of the short. it is an American animation studio that dominated American television animation for nearly three decades in the mid-to-late 20th century The company was originally formed in 1957 by former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) animation directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (creators of Tom and Jerry) and live-action director George Sidney in partnership with Columbia Pictures' Screen Gems television divisiony.

During the mid-1990s, Hanna-Barbera began producing original programming for Cartoon Network, including Cartoon Cartoons shows such as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and The Powerpuff Girls. In 1996, Turner merged with Time Warner, and Hanna-Barbera became a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Animation. With William Hanna's death in 2001, the studio was absorbed into its parent, and the spinoff Cartoon Network Studios continued the projects for Cartoon Network output. Joseph Barbera continued to work for Warner Bros. Animation until his death in 2006.

fred quimby

Frederick Clinton "Fred" Quimby (Saturday, July 31, 1886 – Thursday, September 16, 1965) was an American cartoon producer, best known as a producer of Tom and Jerry cartoons, for which he won seven Academy Awards. He was the film sales executive in charge of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio, which included Tex Avery and the team of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, creators of Tom and Jerry.

His main hit was tom and Jerry it is still a big hit from this day on wards.or which he won seven Academy Awards.Quimby was born in Minneapolis, and started his career as a journalist. In 1907, he managed a film theater in Missoula, Montana. Later, he worked at PathĂ©, rising to become a member of the board of directors before leaving in 1921 to become an independent producer.Died at the age of 79 Santa Monica, California .Tom and Jerry, Puss gets the boot, The midnight snack, The night before Christmas, Cue ball Cat and many more great animations.Tom and Jerry i enjoyed very much because it was funny ,creative it is of any age group and its in color and the animation is clear the wear all funny i i really love the Tom and Jerry dog trouble the dog is my Favorite because it backs up the mouse also they could have choose any dog but they choose a bulldog so it will be funny and also the dog has to make the cat scard

Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an animated cartoon artist screenwriter and director of animated films, most memorably of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts for the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio. He directed many of the classic short animated cartoons starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester, PepĂ© Le Pew and a slew of other Warner characters. Three of these shorts (Duck Amuck, One Froggy Evening and What's Opera, Doc?) were later inducted into the National Film Registry. Chief among Jones' other works was the famous "Hunting Trilogy" of Rabbit Fire, Rabbit Seasoning, and Duck! Rabbit, Duck! (1951–1953).After graduating from Chouinard Art Institute, Jones held a number of low-ranking jobs in the animation industry, including washing cels at the Ub Iwerks studio and assistant animator at the Walter Lantz studio. While at Iwerks, he met a cel painter named Dorothy Webster, who would later become his first wife. chuck worked for warner bros.He died at the age of 89.he created many animations such as duck dodgers, fast and furry-ous, naughty but mice, sesame street and many more great creations.
